Henry Olonga Blood Sweat and Treason
Henry Olonga just released his autobiography entitled Blood, Sweat And Treason. Here’s some more info on the man and what the book’s all about:
Henry Olonga was Zimbabwe’s first ever black cricketer and the youngest ever player to represent his country at the international level. A fine fast bowler, he made his Test debut for Zimbabwe, aged 18 years against Pakistan in 1995. On 10th February 2003, Henry and Andy Flower played a World Cup match wearing black armbands to mourn the ‘death of democracy’ in Zimbabwe. The protest made headlines across the world but within days Olonga discovered that his phone was being tapped and he was being followed by the secret police. Forced out of Zimbabwe, he now lives in exile in England and has embarked on a career in music and art. This book is his story and traces why he gave up his position as an international sportsman to pursue what he believed in.
